Occupational Therapy is a profession based on doing or "occupation" and recognises each individual's innate desire "to do".

Brennan OT's range of Occupational Therapy Services include:

• Assessing a disabled or elderly person in their own environment and recommend changes and/or equipment that will help the person maintain safety and independence and prevent falls.
• Examining an individual's cognitive and perceptual status (e.g. memory) and advise on home safety, placement options and/or devising a programme or adaptations that will improve an individual's ability to complete activities of daily living.
• Assisting an individual to select equipment and appliances including wheelchairs and powered wheelchairs to maximise independence.
• Training and advising clients, families and carers in the use of moving and handling techniques and equipment.
• Working with clients, builders, architects and local authorities to design homes that will suit people with differing abilities.

John Brennan is an Occupational Therapist based in the West of Ireland and working nationally. He has almost a decade of experience in the fields of care of the elderly, mental health and education. He graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 2001 with a 1st Class Honours Degree.

John is a well known and respected occupational therapist and has presented papers at national occupational therapy conferences and has published a paper in the Irish Journal of Occupational Therapy.

John specialises in assessing older people and people living with a disability for assistive equipment e.g. wheelchairs and housing adaptations e.g. stairlifts and walk in showers. He is particularly interested in and expert at completing home safety and functional assessments with clients with complex needs.

John is a well known and respected occupational therapist. He has been profiled in the Irish Times >>>Profile and has presented papers at national occupational therapy conferences and has published a paper in the Irish Journal of Occupational Therapy.
